3Pumpkins

3Pumpkins is a non-profit arts organisation based in Singapore. We believe strongly in creating platforms to restore and build positive relationships in an increasingly anxious and disconnected world. We are guided by these principles in our work:

  • Social role of the arts: in connecting and building sustainable communities.
  • Person-centric approach: in affirming self-worth and cultivating joy in living.
  • Creative collaborative process: in enriching community life.

In 2016, we initiated Let’s Go PLay OutSide! (LGPO!), a process-driven social practice that activates neighbourhood playgrounds to engage and empower children through art and play, and explores the synergy of creative arts and social work in community engagement.

Our other main programme, 3P Community Arts Lab, is a cooperative arts makerspace developed with a vision to connect individuals from the diverse communities of people, private and public sectors. Through multi-disciplinary arts and crafts residencies, open lab sessions and discussion groups, the laboratory facilitates community knowledge-sharing, which in turn benefits the children that 3Pumpkins engages in LGPO!.

3Pumpkins has also produced works like contemporary giant puppet performance The Rubbish Prince and participatory projects commissioned by various institutions. Our collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic School of Design, Seeing the Obvious, received City of Love award (2019) for sustainable communities.

OMG Makerspace

Discover and explore creative learning experience (CLX), digital prototyping, STEM education, and corporate professional development at OneMaker Group Pte Ltd (OMG), a creative design studio based at the National Design Centre. OMG believes that Making involves deep levels of consideration that are not possible through paper discussions, and its process holds equal significance to Thinking. Hence, we are a firm evangelist of the Design Thinking Process, which taps on the same principles of Design Thinking, building on the latter’s stages of prototyping, test feedback and iteration.

At Makerspace in the Humanistic Youth Centre, we strive to foster a community of youth to learn and develop digital technical skills by running related workshops and programmes. We also endeavour to create and support any potential start-ups or entrepreneurs in hardware product development and prototyping services. In addition, we will organise regular meetups for young people and allow them opportunities to network through participation in local and regional events.

Real Food

Good food can only be made with real ingredients. Every creation you enjoy from us is freshly prepared from scratch, using plant-based, clean and ethical ingredients, without any artificial additives and preservatives. Modern baked goods usually contain chemical dough improvers and softeners, commercial yeast and artificial colouring. We adopt the Slow Bake method, striving to return to the artisan way of baking using slow fermentation. Our breads are typically made with only four basic ingredients (flour, water, salt, and leaven), while our pastries are handmade with only quality and natural ingredients. The result is products that are wholesome, healthy and delicious.

The partnership between Tzu Chi and Real Food is an organic one. Tzu Chi actively promotes an environmentally friendly diet and lifestyle while Real Food was founded based on the belief that such a lifestyle can be a delicious, pleasurable and diverse experience. Together, we hope to spread the message on eating and living well to all who come to the Humanistic Youth Centre. By shaping the perceptions of young people today, we can build a sustainable future that appreciates real and good food.
