Intern with us!

The Keen Hearts Internship Program (KHIP) is an unpaid six month, part-time internship program designed to equip youths with therapeutic facilitation skills essential for working with children. This internship allows you to gain practical experience in supporting children's psychosocial health through a community-based primary intervention program.

We are looking for responsible and consistent individuals who are keen to expand knowledge and skills to positively impact the emotional, behavioural and psychological functioning of children. Applicants will be interviewed for program suitability.

Program Details

KHIP is a unique program only offered by the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu-Chi Foundation (Singapore) at the Humanistic Youth Centre in Yishun. It offers prospective interns a learning experience of how blending the therapeutic effects of play in a group setting with professional individual therapy can benefit children.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn effective communication techniques with children, behaviour observation and how to influence socially acceptable behaviours. This hybrid internship consists of three areas: program facilitation, project work and program support. Interns must complete 10-12 hours of in-person work per week over the six month period.

Upon successful completion, interns may be issued a reference letter for their portfolio.

This internship not only refined my communication and facilitation skills but also deepened my commitment to making a positive impact on young lives. The lessons I learned from Dr. Seetha’s training and the hands-on experience...will continue to guide me in future roles, empowering me to be a more compassionate and effective advocate for children’s well-being.
